In 2015, my wife Lynn and I had set our 5 year goals. These goals included retirement and finding a place to retire. After business trips and vacations in Colorado, we had focused our search on northern Colorado. That same year, we wandered into a small realtor’s office in Loveland and met Jamie Kimberlin and Rick Moehling. They both sat back and attentively listened to our story (our dream at this point). They provided us with some thoughts and ideas on how we should proceed and we continued on our journey. In the following years, Jamie and Rick stayed in communication with us as our lives continued in New Jersey. They followed as our life situations changed and our schedule was moved forward. We arrived again to renew our search in June of 2018. They patiently continued to listen to our needs and wants as we intensified our search for that perfect retirement home in the perfect spot in Colorado. That June trip brought many options offered by Jamie and Rick and our windows of opportunity opened up. Knowing that housing and prices and interest rates were on the rise, it was time to make some decisions. During our trips out to research and learn about the Colorado housing and the many communities that might fit our needs, we formed our first Colorado friendships with our realtors from The Source. Their patient guidance in answering our most mundane questions to guiding us through the intricacies of a real estate transactions were instrumental in our successes. At our final walk-thru, Rick graciously removed a spider to the outdoors for us and Jamie trudged through our non-landscaped yard in high heels so that she would look nice at our closing. Sometimes it’s about the little things. We are two years ahead of our goal of finding our retirement home and are settling in on what we hope is a long, fruitful retirement in Severance, Colorado and look forward to lots of laughs with our new Colorado friends, Jaime and Rick.
